What is the Prize?

In 2024, poet, journalist and general gadabout Clive Gresswell sadly passed away.

Clive was a passionate innovative poet and a great believer in bringing poetry and its tools for self-expression to a wider audience.

In his memory, his friends and family have started the Perpendicular Poetry Prize, a creative competition which seeks to encourage bold new forms of poetry from unexpected quarters, rewarding unsung talent and promoting both new and experienced voices.
